2001
WHERE IT BEGAN
In 2001, Kevin & Racheal launched as the ‘Cambridge Coffee Company’. Their shop was situated in the back room of a bike shop in Cambridge.
2007
THE GREAT OUTDOORS
We decided to break away from the High Street and pledged to only invest in sites situated in country parks, woods and forests – our slogan was born: ‘Great Coffee for the Great Outdoors’!
2016
BECOMING 'GROUNDS'
In 2016 we rebranded as ‘Grounds Cafes’. In July 2022 we opened our ninth site across England. Our talented chefs prepare all our homemade cakes, soups, stews and gelato in house!

We are committed to reducing our environmental impact by minimising single-use waste and making thoughtful, sustainable choices wherever possible. We will continue to grow the Grounds brand and open new cafés.

FUTURE
MOVING FORWARD
We minimise single use waste and, our spent coffee grounds are repurposed into BioBean ‘coffee logs’ – burnable logs that fuel our wood burners. Our gelato machines are solar-powered.
